Of Law Students and Coffee Shops

Bars? Not really. Most law students love hangin' out in coffee shops I think.

Coffee Shop Invasion

It's hard enough studying law in a place not conducive to mind-numbing memorization. Your school's law library is of course a perfect choice but not all of them are on 24/7. So which is the next best place to read and study? Coffee shops!

One of them coffee shops
Law students are a special group of folks who love chugging coffee and water on normal days and I definitely think the coffee shops are missing out on a great marketing opportunity (more on this soon). They should have a special promo or card  or rewards plus for law students, haha. Just saying. Undeniably, coffee shops are great hang outs for law students like me not only for the coffee and the great nibbles but for the opportunity to read quietly.

Worst Times to Read in a Coffee Shop

Pre-exams week are awful not only in finding prime but quiet nook but also in getting a safe parking slot. It's not just fellow fab law students fighting over a seat and a table cause these places are also filled with med students.

Weekends especially Friday nights are also not conducive when the working and nightlife crowd descends in these coffee shops. Some of them have already called it a night after a few rounds of drinks in some bar and they can get, well rowdy, you get the picture.

Perfect Timing

Of course, the best time to actually spend some nice time is during early mornings on weekdays. The only drawback is you gotta fight it off with the rush hour crowd to get to these places, which is kind of a bummer and such a time waste unless you live right next to one.

Some Coffee Shop Etiquette Please!

And yeah, some can get pretty over the top during exams week. I often see some bringing their study lamps, some small pillows, I mean really! Actually, there are times I feel like I'm in the middle of the private study room, which should not be the case. After all these are still commercial establishments trying to earn a profit. There's nothing wrong with doing reading but don't overdo it, y'all. These are just some habits that I think should be better left done in the privacy of your own room.

Happy reading and raise up those warm mugs of your choice, cheers to studying law!
